DESLIZE [SLIP]

Salto, Lisbon

13.05.23 - 17.06.23

[PT]

... 4, 3, 2, 1. Restarting an image of semi-unknown symbologies. In addition to system failures and decoded signals, there are verbs that indicate movement, action and reaction. In this time interval, an apocalyptic breath creates new species and ways of life. A fleeting path dictated by the skies is built, passing through burning landscapes, smoke screens, decaying shop windows and dark forests that dominate ruins.

Extinction is cause and consequence. A body is not prepared to die and be born as many times as necessary. A living body is a body that goes extinct. The horn of the last marine unicorn was found under coals. Screws and stainless steel plates began to support the imagery of a dense forest while clouds write premonitions in the skies. For the weed that grows anywhere, without asking permission, care instructions have already been made and stamped through the streets of a deserted city, where time has been corroded by salt and other strange scenes take place above - below - across.

Elements are being formulated to compose other realities. In this reset, something that seems common in fiction and reality games occurs: Phases. Cycles. Errors. The magic happens in repetition: in the tic-tac of the clock and breathing as a vital exercise. Exposed fractures between chaos and the passage of time are escape valves that point to deviation, composing a landscape that appears detached and possible to be reinvented.

Deslize [Slip], an ambiguous word that connects here in 13 ways, 13 acts. It can be seen as a subtle error or a masterstroke that, in endless attempts, slips slightly on this wheel of constant rotation, creating paths where attention turns to cyclical, aesthetic and symbolic revolutions. At the end of that line begins another line. Detect the waypoint. Plot escape routes. Start over.
